Pantry Essentials: 5 Must Have Ingredients

I get a ton of requests to share my favorite pantry items! However, for a foodie like myself you can imagine it’s quite difficult to share all the stuff I am constantly hoarding in my cabinets! With that said, today I am sharing the  FIVE pantry staples that are absolutely KEY for many of my recipes. These are essentials in my kitchen and some of my most used ingredients. I can’t wait to share more posts like this and I think I’ll do monthly posts on all the new food items I am constantly trying!

So, I figured the best way to lay out this post was to share the pantry item, and then show you how I’ve utilized that item in specific recipes so you can see it in all its GLORY!  With the following ingredients stocked up, you can pretty much make any and every Chutney Life recipe! The great thing is I am constantly finding new ways to use these items and there is no wrong or right way, so have some fun!

#1 Prakash Thecha Chutney

What is it? A spicy garlic and chili chutney/paste.

Where do I buy it? Local Indian grocery store or online here.

How do I store it? Remove from package and store in a glass jar and keep refrigerated for freshness.

How do I use it? Spread some on your avocado toast or glide it on some bread to add a kick to your sandwiches!

Here, I use thecha chutney mixed with a little cream cheese as a spread in my  Tandoori Chicken Quesadillas:

#2 Curry Powder

What is it? A seasoning mixed with flavors of turmeric, coriander, fenugreek and other spices. I currently use the Mccormick curry powder because it’s easy to find and it is a great balanced blend.

How do I store it? Store in a cool dry location like in your pantry or cupboard.

How do I use it? Make a fun pasta like this Coconut Curry Cavatappi or see how I use it below sprinkled on roasted vegetables for my Tandoori Veggie Pita Pockets!

#3 Old El Paso Enchilada Sauce
