My mom was never really into skin care growing up. She didn’t care much about makeup, or moisturizer (luckily my cousins had this covered) but one thing she always emphasized was the importance of a good haircare routine. You see, my mom grew up in India where long beautiful silky locks were a cultural obsession. Even our Gods and Goddesses are always depicted having the most beautifu,l shiny, long black hair and it was something that was pretty ingrained in our culture from a very young age. A good haircare routine meant everything from not washing it too often, to applying oil, getting in a good scalp massage and doing DIY masks long before they were popular on Pinterest, lol.
She passed on a lot of this “hairitage” to me which is why my childhood is filled with memories of having oils rubbed vigorously into my head (most times reluctantly) and having every kind of oil you can imagine stuffed under the bathroom sink. Over time I got used to it and as I became a teenager, I really started noticing the difference in my hair when I would stick to the routine she taught me. I tried everything from putting raw eggs in my hair, to applying henna and ghee! Over time I became incredibly grateful for all these tid-bits my mom passed on to me because they had been passed on to her by my own grandmother. It was a way to feel connected to my culture, spend moments with my mom, all while my hair reaped the benefits!
One thing that remained a constant in our routine was my mom’s love of Pantene products. My parents emigrated from India in the late 80’s, worked multiple jobs, and splurging on beauty products was pretty much never an option for my mom. But because hair care was so important to her, she always treated herself to Pantene hair care products. The Pantene brand is incredibly nostalgic to me and in my mind I can vividly remember the different packaging over the years. When I had the opportunity to try the Nutrient Blends Collection, inspired from cultures around the world, life came pretty full circle!

Here are the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection products I’ve been using and loving:
Miracle Moisture Boost Shampoo with Rose Water
Miracle Moisture Boost Conditioner with Rose Water
Miracle Moisture Boost Petal Soft Rose Water Hair Treatment
I’ve been using the shampoo & conditioner a couple times a week and adding in Rose Water hair treatment when my hair needs a little extra love! The shampoo lathers up great, rinses out clean and I love letting the conditioner soak into my hair for a bit while I shave, relax and indulge in a steamy hot shower. After each use, my hair feels soft, smells fabulous, and is shiny (my momma would be so proud! lol).
I particularly love that the collection is paraben free, sulfate free, mineral oil free, and dye free, and it really does lock in an incredible amount of moisture! If you’d like to indulge in a little routine too, the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection is available here so check it out and let me know what you guys think! ?
